About Our Staff
Doug Kleintop is our Pastor of Administration and Pastoral Care, and has served the Palmer Moravian Church since 1992. Doug is a graduate of Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary. His wife, Rosemary, is the executive director of the Northampton County Medical Society. They are the parents of 3 adult children, and 5 grandchildren. Doug has served Moravian congregations in Staten Island, New York, New Philadelphia, Ohio, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Bethlehem, Pa. A highlight of his ministry has been supervising seminary students from Moravian Theological Seminary. In 2002, Doug was elected a bishop of the Moravian Church; and serves as the Chair of the Ordination Review Committee for the Northern Province of the Moravian Church. Away from ministry Doug enjoys walking on the beach and looking for sea glass with Rosemary, following college and professional sports as an avid fan, attempting to solve Sudoku puzzles, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Missy is our Pastor of Spiritual Formation and Outreach, having served in this capacity since July 2008. Prior to this, she served as the Worship Coordinator for our New Horizon worship service, while working full-time as the Director of Admissions and Student Life at Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She has also served a Moravian congregation on Staten Island. Missy holds a B.A. from Moravian College and a Master of Divinity from Moravian Seminary. She is married to Frank, and they have two children, Morgen and Quincy. Missy enjoys baseball games (Go Yankees!), reading, gardening and anything to do with food! In addition to ministry at Palmer Moravian, Missy serves as chaplain for the Palmer Township Municipal Fire Department, as a Trustee for the Moravian Music Foundation, and as chair of the New Church Strategy Committee for the Moravian Church. “If you want to have a conversation about how we can start new churches, just ask . . .”
Gail is the Director of our Palmer Moravian Day School and has served the school as teacher and director since 1983. Gail is a graduate of Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. In May 2010, Gail received a Specialized Diploma in the major of Leadership for Early Childhood Education Program Directors from Northampton Community College. Gail and her husband, Dave, are members of the Palmer Moravian Church and live in Wilson Borough. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, travelling, gardening, reading, meeting friends for dinner and spending time each summer with her nieces.
Sue has served as the secretary for Palmer Moravian Church since January, 2003. She is a graduate of Moravian College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Prior to joining the staff at Palmer Moravian, Sue served as secretary of her church, College Hill Moravian, for 8 years. Her husband, Andrew, is employed by Stanley/ Black and Decker in Allentown. They reside in Bethlehem and have three adult daughters. In her spare time Sue enjoys walking, antiquing, gardening and working on various projects around their old house.
Ruth is our Christian Education Director. She has been a member of Palmer Moravian Church since 1981, and has served as Christian Education Director since 1989. Prior to this, she worked in the field of social work, after graduating from Moravian College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a certificate in Social Work. Ruth also has a Master of Education degree from Lehigh University. Ruth has worked part-time in our Palmer Moravian Day School over the years and continues to serve on its Board of Directors since 1986. Ruth lives in Williams Township with her husband, Joe, and has two adult daughters and one adorable grandson. She likes to do crafts, although most of her spare time is enjoyed with her family and young grandson.
Jan is our Minister of Music, and has served as organist and choir director at Palmer Moravian Church since 1990. Jan is a graduate of St. Olaf College and has completed further study in worship and theology at Moravian Theological Seminary. Jan has been a church musician at a number of Moravian and Lutheran congregations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. She is also the administrator of the Provincial Women’s Board of the Northern Province of the Moravian Church. When not involved in music or women’s ministries, Jan enjoys reading mysteries and cooking, especially vegetarian dishes.
Henry and Audrey have been serving as our church custodians since 1998. Audrey has been a member of the congregation for more than fifty years, with Henry joining when they were married. Together, they care daily for our busy church and day school facilities.
